2025 Year In Review

Usually I review what all came out during the year — movies, games, books, etc. This year, I want to focus on me.

I’ll actually push back this recap to August 2024. At that point, I was just put on the PR list for Screambox and was being sent screeners for their movies (shoutout to Screambox, btw!). With this, plus some returning friends with their new works they wanted me to promote, I decided to start me a little Google spreadsheet to keep track of it all. By the end of the year, that spreadsheet was filling up with screeners, books, and podcast guests. By January of this year, I was scheduling out weeks in advance.

And that was a true turning point for me. When I started Let’s Talk Terror in 2019, I had a dream that one day I could do this for a living. Now in 2025, that dream is so much closer than I could have imagined. I went from not a single view on my website to thousands per month and having branched out to YouTube and Instagram. While I still have a daytime job, I am making a name for myself in the horror realm.

And that name is becoming a known entity in the Indie horror community, specifically. More and more, I meet filmmakers with microbudgets that make the most amazing films. First-time authors turn into my favorites, with me seeking them out when their next releases hit. And through my podcast, I have made so many new friends that — even though we’ve only met online — I treat them as if I’ve known them my whole life. I still get promotional news and screeners from bigger production/distribution companies as well, which has helped widen my audience, getting the Let’s Talk Terror name out to whomever needs to hear it.

And by the end of the year, I had accomplished two of my goals — doing more for YouTube, and being invited as Press to a festival. On the YouTube front, I have been doing “Before and After” reviews alongside my Bite-Sized Boos. I have even done a couple vlogs here and there. Festival-wise, I attended Telluride and KORK (yes, LTT went international!). I am beyond proud of myself… but even more grateful.

2025 was filled with a lot of firsts for me: first proper vlog, first festival. It was my first time feeling like LTT could really work. I’m sitting here now, planning out content for the next two months, eagerly excited for the upcoming year. We’re really getting somewhere.

Will 2026 be the year of LTT? I don’t know, but I’m excited to find out. Thank you all for continuing to Talk Terror with me 🎃
