REVIEW — Bannister Doll Heist (2026)

Miss Polly had a dolly — who murders people. From the minds that brought you Cleaver 3: Maximum Cleavage comes Bannister Doll Heist, a story that puts a new spin on a little girl’s best friend. As we know from many horror movies before, dolls can be one hell of a vessel for evil forces, and in this case, a group of people find this out the hard way.

The Bannister Doll has spent years locked away in an old evidence locker, tonight 4 thieves are about to find they just stole the wrong package.

Bannister Doll Heist, IMDB

Contracted to steal a package from the police (already a bad idea), these small-time robbers find out what the package contains: a simple doll. As they realize they had been duped, their anger turns into fear as they become trapped inside the building — and people start dying. That doll isn’t just plastic and hair, it’s evil incarnate in a ghostly body. As it climbs walls, screeches bloody murder, and snatches people’s lives in seconds, the group must make their escape, lest it catches onto their wickedness.

Now let’s talk about this sentient doll for a second, because she is ridiculously creepy. Wearing a long white dress with mangled, greasy hair, her face is obscured slightly (which is a good thing, because her stitched-closed mouth and abyss-like eyes are not something I want to look at for too long). She glides across ceilings and scrambles across the floor, only to pop up behind her unsuspecting victims, wrapping her tendril-like fingers over their shoulders as she towers over them. This dolly is one I absolutely would not want to meet. Bannister Doll Heist? More like Bannister Get Me the Fuck Outta Here!

And as she grasps you from behind, she slowly pries off your head, as seen in some gnarly effects. The filmmakers of Bannister Doll Heist kill it again with effects that not only look great, but play well on camera. The effects come at just the right moments to keep the momentum and stakes raised. My only wish is that we didn’t have to wait until midway through the movie for these awesome death scenes.

You can kind of break Bannister Doll Heist into two halves: first a crime thriller, then a haunted good time. It starts off slower with exposition on what the group is doing, but once the doll is released (and we hear the rumored ghost story that goes along with her presence), all bets are off. The tone shifts from thriller, straight into horror — and yes, there is a difference.

Bannister Doll Heist was fun, and the paranormal aspect was indeed a standout feature. The monster is way creepier than I imagined coming into this film, and I’m glad I waited for the halfway point for her to make her presence known.
