I need more of this kind of movie immediately. Poorly dubbed. Questionable overacting. Nonsensical storyline. Overall an entire mess⦠but I loved every second of it.
Like taxidermy itself, The Taxidermist blurs the lines between art and the afterlife, filled to the brim with blood, guts, and twists at every turn. A man in need of money is propositioned to create a piece he has never attempted before: a human.
The Nightmare on Elm Street remake is by no means my favorite film of all time, but itβs not trash. Let me explain.
You shouldnβt go in expecting high-tech effects and jumpscares galore, but rather endless laughs you can share with a group of your best friends.
Few non-Westerners make such an impact on (western) horror than manga writer and illustrator Junji Ito. One such work, his most well-known, is the story of a girl who actually isnβt: Tomie.
Most of the time I give second chances to movies, but this time Iβm giving a second chance to a person: Rob Zombie.
Realizing Iβm a bit biased (the 60s isnβt my favorite decade for horror), I decided to give The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism another chance.
Beautiful filming style and compelling story should be reasons to watch it, and if you can stand the long runtime, it will probably be worth it.
