Being released the *same year* and written by the same person makes choosing between The Omen (1976) and its novelization surprisingly difficult… because they’re basically identical. 😈

Honestly, I think this one comes down to what you experienced first — and whether you’d rather read or watch your horror stories unfold. For me, the book wins out JUST slightly. I loved the deeper dives into religious symbolism and the explanations surrounding the number of the beast in the book, but I can see why people often keep returning to the film.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt that 2024's The First Omen ended up being such a fantastic prequel a few years ago. 👀 (And yes, I reviewed it on LetsTalkTerror.com!)
